“I was grateful for the friendship that was formed with John at Mathewson Street. In May of 2025 I received a call letting me know that a spot had opened for permanent housing. I needed some help with obtaining documents to ensure I could move into my apartment and John stuck by me every step of the way. From getting my id, birth certificate, a new social security card and then going with me for support at meetings with the staff who were navigating the process.
